Concept

An editorial review of a study on graphic design applied to the cultural sector. The variety of formats reflects the different communication materials produced by a graphic designer for cultural institutions, particularly French museums: leaflets, information sheets, brochures and catalogues.

In an effort to minimise the environmental impact of printing this publication, a single ink is used on PEFC-certified coloured paper to avoid large solid blocks of background colour. The cover is made from offcuts of neon lemon-coloured plexiglass, dyed throughout, cut and engraved using a laser cutter.

Study

An essential link in the artistic creation process, the graphic designer bridges the gap between art, culture and the public. At the intersection of artistic content and graphic design, a third factor comes into play: the distributor. Distributors, too, have their own identity, which must be represented in the graphic designer’s work. The designer must therefore bring these three distinct entities together, with the aim of creating a fourth identity that unites them.
